About me

Elizabeth Wilson is a poet, editor, tap dance enthusiast, patient advocate, and speaker for Project Sleep’s Rising Voices of Narcolepsy program. Her work has been recognized with two prestigious awards for her poetry in 2021. Her first book, Windowpanes, was the recipient of Sappho’s Prize in Poetry, and her poem titled “Your Sister Brings Me an Orchard” received the Patricia Dobler Award. Her work has been featured in a variety of literary journals and anthologies, including Asheville Poetry Review, Cold Mountain Review, Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine, South Dakota Review, and Voices from the Attic, among others. She is also a recipient of the 2022-2023 NC Arts Council Artist Support Grant, which will help her to promote her debut book and to continue her work on her second poetry collection. She is currently working on a series of poetry workshops, which will launch during the summer of 2024.

Elizabeth is available for consultations and collaborations, poetry readings and workshop facilitation, patient advocacy and education, and speaking engagements on a variety of topics, including, LGBTQ, narcolepsy, chronic illness, and disability issues, among others.
